Open Water Class (Weekend Format with Class Room)
(Weekend Course meets Friday evening 6-10 PM and Saturday 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM)

What does it cover?
The PADI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the world’s most popular scuba certification course. Millions of people have started diving as certified PADI Open Water Divers. Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods). The PADI Open Water Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need. You develop the remaining skills in our pool by  diving with one of the PADI SJ Scuba Instructor's. To complete certification, requires four (4) dives in an open water environment with a PADI Instructor.
The cost is $270.00 and includes a Video, test book, log book and eRDPML.

What is eLearning?
PADI's eLearning is an online version of the PADI knowledge development portion of a PADI course. Currently, the PADI Open Water Course, Advanced Open Water Course and Enriched Air course can be completed on line. You will complete the diving with an SJ Scuba Instructor.

How does it work?
After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

What does it cost?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course online is $120 (US) nonrefundable. The fee covers your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook).

What does it not cover?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course online does not provide a log book or eRDPML that you can use to log and plan dives after the course is completed.
SJ Scuba will provide a log book, which you will keep, to log both your training and future dive experiences.

What else do you need to do?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course requires you complete a medical statement before taking part in the confined water dives (pool). Please fill out the fist page of the attached medical form by answering each question as No or Yes. If you have any Yes answers, please have your family doctor fill out the second page and bring with you to the pool.  CLICK HERE FOR THE MEDICAL STATEMENT.

Confined water training (pool) is an additional $160.00. (Paid to SJ Scuba)
Open Water Certification Dives is an additional $100.00 (Paid to SJ Scuba)
